Free and discounted passes to museums+ are available to library cardholders. Please read the guidelines for use, then book by date or by museum.

  • Guidelines for Pass Use & Borrowing

Passes are reservable by any Massachusetts resident who:
Is at least 18 years old
Has a valid library card in the MVLC system
Has an account in good standing

Eligible users can reserve up to 1 pass per day and 1 pass per museum per month. Due to the cost of The Butterfly Place passes, the GPL Endowment has placed a limit on use to once per calendar year per patron. Passes may be reserved online, by phone, or in person up to 8 weeks (60 days) in advance. To reserve a pass, select by museum or by date.

    Borrowing
Most passes may be picked up 3 days in advance at the Circulation Desk on the second floor, but a few returnable passes for multiple days of the week (e.g., Wed-Fri or Tue-Thu) can only be picked up the day before or the morning of the pass use. Please check the library's hours for when you can pick up passes.
    Returnable passes
must be returned to the library before opening the next day. You may place the pass in the book drop in the envelope provided.

Passes can now be cancelled online. As a courtesy to others who may want to reserve passes, please cancel your reservation as soon as you know your plans have changed.

Call the Circulation Desk if you need help booking passes. Library staff are happy to book a pass for you or cancel a pass reservation.

Admission policies vary with each pass and are subject to change. Links are provided to view current museum hours, directions, restrictions, and other visiting guidelines.

Repeat no-show bookings may result in temporary suspension of pass reservation privileges.

Passes are generously provided by the Groton Public Library Endowment Trust and the Groton Garden Club.
