GPL has books and so much more! We offer collections in many different formats to best meet our patrons' interests and needs. And on every floor, you’ll find friendly staff happy to assist you.

  • Books — In-Print to eReaders

    GPL has plenty of books you can hold in your hands and turn the pages. We have collections for all ages and interests.

    Books for Adults: fiction, mysteries, science fiction & fantasy, short stories, paperbacks, biographies, nonfiction, graphic novels, reference books, large print books (fiction and nonfiction)
    Books for Teens: fiction, biographies, nonfiction, graphic novels
    Books for Children: picture books, easy readers, fiction, biographies, nonfiction, reference books

    New to our collections is a small but growing collection of Graphic Novels for adults, uniting words and art into visual stories.

    GPL also encourages readers to try out our Circulating eReaders (Nooks and Kobos).

  • Audio — CD, MP3-CD & Playaway

    The tradition of telling stories orally is the most ancient form of literature! Listening to a good book is fun and can be shared with others.

    GPL has audiobooks for all ages—adults, teens and kids, including fiction, nonfiction, biographies and language instruction.

    While digital audiobook downloads are the wave of future, it really depends on what works best for you (and in your vehicle). Physical formats for audiobooks at the Library include:

    • CD and MP3-CD (requires an MP3-CD player)
    • Playaway (with the audiobook and MP3 player combined in one small unit); use your own headphones and battery; audio output cables available to borrow, too

    Download or streaming music is also great and available for free with your library card, but we have a wonderful selection of music CDs to borrow from the adult and kids collections. Categories include rock, pop, classical, opera, show tunes, jazz, country, folk, world, comedy.

  • Video — DVD, Blu-Ray & Binge Boxes

    Download and streaming video services are available with your library card, but we also offer a rich collection of feature films, both U.S. and foreign, TV series, and nonfiction instructional or documentary videos on DVD and Blu-Ray discs.

    Check out our Binge Boxes—a set of DVDs brought together in a theme (e.g. actor, director, topic, or type of film). Search for "binge box" in the Catalog.

  • Video Games

    GPL has a collection of video games for kids, teens, and adults. We have games in various formats, including:

    • Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii and Wii U, Nintendo DS and 3DS
    • PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4
    • XBox 360, Xbox One

Go to Library of Things for non-traditional items to borrow, such as basketballs, hotspots, book club kits, and more!

Once you've borrowed all of the above materials, you can check out a GPL tote bag to carry them in! Available in every department.
