Groton READS 2017

The Big Burn by Timothy Egan

Groton READS gets underway this month with another great book and programs for all ages! The Big Burn is the story of the nation’s biggest wildfire—the 1910 apocalyptic blaze that burned an area the size of Connecticut in a weekend. Equally dramatic is the larger story of Teddy Roosevelt and Gifford Pinchot, and the creation myth of the U.S. Forest Service.
