“Plant a Seed, Read” Teen Summer Reading Challenge
Grades 6-12
June 16 - August 22, 2026
Record your time spent reading (or listening to audiobooks) on the Beanstack app to Earn Prizes!
Teens in Grades 6-12 may READ ANYTHING and log the time spent reading from June 16 to August 22 on the Beanstack App to earn badges and prizes!
Read 360 minutes – Receive a $5 Menchie’s Gift Card
Read 600 minutes – Receive an O’Neil Cinema Ultimate Movie Pass
Read 1,000 minutes – Receive a $15 Barnes & Noble Gift Card plus we will make a donation to your choice of Loaves and Fishes or Gaining Ground charities.
Read 1,500 minutes – Receive a raffle ticket for a $250 Gift Card to Kimball Farms
Read more and earn another ticket for every 500 minutes you read.
There is also an optional Book Review challenge which will earn tickets for a drawing for a $50 Barnes & Noble Gift Card.
To participate you need to create an account on the Beanstack tracker app or on the web at grotonpubliclibrary.beanstack.org. Create an account using your email and then register for the “Plant a Seed, Read” Summer Reading Program. READ ANYTHING! Log the time you spend reading to earn badges and prizes. You may also write book reviews to earn badges and tickets for a drawing for a $50 Gift Card to Barnes & Noble.
Prizes and tickets must be redeemed in person at the mid-level Circulation desk on the 2nd floor of the Groton Public Library. The drawing for the $250 Kimball Farms Gift Card and the $50 Barnes & Noble Gift Card will take place on Sept. 1, 2026, and other prizes will be available until Sept. 30, 2026. All prizes are provided by the Groton Public Library Endowment Trust.
