Summer Reading

The Children’s Room is excited about the 2015 Summer Reading Program — Every Hero Has a Story.  We have prizes and programs for everyone. Registration begins Friday, June 19, for children through Grade 5.

Join us this summer!

How the Program Works:

dot Come to the GPL Children's Room to SIGN UP. You will need a library card. Children under 6 can use a parent's card. Receive a weekly raffle ticket when you sign up.


dot Set a GOAL for SUMMER READING. How much are you going to read each week this summer? Parents: help your child come up with a realistic reading goal. Make it fun! You can fill out and sign the "Summer Reading Contract" as a reminder.


dot Get PRIZES! Come in once a week for 1 prize, 2 weekly raffle tickets, and 1 Grand Prize raffle ticket. (You are able to receive a total of 10 prizes—one per week—during the program. If you are on vacation and can't make it in, don't worry! You can catch up when you get home.

dot Extra Incentives:

  • Participate in Library BINGO to receive extra weekly raffle tickets and a Kimball's ice cream coupon!
