Story Times
Story times are offered for children from infancy to 5 years old. Regular weekly story times run from September until the beginning of December and from January through April. Check the calendar for exact dates and times. When school is cancelled due to weather conditions, please call the library to see if story times will be held. Story times are not held during school vacation weeks.
For Babies through Kindergarten Children
Tales and Tunes for Tots
Usually the first Friday of the month, 10:30-11:15 am
A story and music time for infants and preschoolers featuring popular children’s entertainers. Online registration begins one week before the program for Groton residents; non-residents may sign up two days in advance as space allows.
For Babies and Toddlers
Mother Goose for Infants-Age 2
Wednesdays, 10:30-11:00 am and 11:15-11:45 am
A first library experience for babies and toddlers with a parent or caregiver. Nursery rhymes, songs, fingerplays, puppets, and an introduction to books. No registration required. Each program is limited to 15 children on a first come, first serve basis. Preference is given to Groton residents.
For Pre-School Children
Story time for 3, 4 and 5 Year Olds
Thursdays, 10:30-11:00 am
Stories, songs and fingerplays selected for the interests and attention span of the preschooler. Child must be at least 3 years old to attend this program. No registration required. The program is limited to 20 children on a first come, first serve basis. Preference given to Groton residents.
Pajama Story Time for Ages 3 and Up
Usually the third Thursday evening of the month, 7:00-7:45 pm
Join GPL staff and volunteers for a cozy wind-down with great stories. Children may wear their pajamas if they like and can even bring a favorite stuffed animal. Sign up online begins one week in advance.
