Programs for School-Aged Children
The Children’s Room offers special programs and events for school-aged children throughout the year. These events include storytellers, magicians, animal programs, arts and crafts, and author visits. Please check the calendar for a schedule of upcoming events.
Every Child a Library Card…
To help meet this goal, the Library hosts all first grade children in the Groton-Dunstable school system for a library visit and tour. Since 2008, the GPL Endowment Trust has sponsored buses for school visits. The Library works closely with the schools in preparing to meet the needs of young scholars. (Learn more, if you are a teacher.) Additionally, the GPL librarians visit the schools each spring to announce and promote the Summer Reading Program.
Book Discussion Groups
The Children’s Room offers monthly book discussion meetings for two different age groups:
- Book Bears – Grades 2-3
- Book Worms – Grades 4-5
Enjoy and discuss great books and have refreshments! Call 978-448-1168 or email the library for more information on how to join. (Participation limited to 20 children per group.)
