The Children’s Room strives to maintain a close relationship with the schools by working with educators to identify materials and programs that will enhance and enrich the classroom experience. Teachers are encouraged to use the many resources and services available at the Groton Public Library.

Full-text articles from academic and scholarly journals in the fields of education, child development and psychology.
InfoEducator's Reference Complete is a selection of more than 450 full-text academic journals, hundreds of full-text reports, and many premier reference sources. Included content focuses on educational principles, child development and psychology, and best practices in education. Majority of the full-text titles included are also found in the ERIC database. The database is updated daily and provides 24-hour access from school or home. Coverage from 1980 – present. Library Access Remote  Access

School Visits and Tours

We welcome visits from classes. Please call ahead or email us to arrange a date and time so that the Library staff can provide the best service and meet the needs of your class.

Every year, the GPL Endowment Trust has sponsored buses for school visits for first graders and all other elementary school children.

Research and Reports

Are your students doing a research project? Please call us or email us and we'll set aside materials pertaining to the subject just for your students. Advance notification of upcoming school assignments helps to ensure that library resources are available to meet student research needs in a timely manner.
