Welcome to the Children’s Room
The Groton Public Library Children's Room strives to create a warm, inviting, and fun environment for children from infancy through fifth grade. We are committed to providing ongoing support to parents, teachers, caregivers, homeschooling families, and community organizations. The Library offers many programs and services that encourage children to develop a love of the library, books, reading, and learning, including: story times for various ages; book discussion groups; school vacation programs; Summer Reading programs, and special events for children of all ages. Please check the calendar for a schedule of upcoming events.
The Children's Room collection includes picture books, board books, beginning readers, beginning chapter books, fiction books, nonfiction books, audiobooks on CD and cassette tape, computer software, music CDs, multimedia kits, magazines, VHS videos and DVDs, and parenting materials. The Children's Room also provides public computers with Internet access and games for children. Many children especially enjoy the play and reading area with puzzles and a dollhouse.
